August Attendance Update

(September 4, 2018) – Proportional attendance from the first 12 days of the school year was released today. 90% of students in the St. Joseph School District attended school 90% of the time in August.

The proportional attendance rate is used for district accreditation and measures the percentage of students attending school at least 90% of the time. This annual target was selected by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as part of the MSIP5 accreditation process. The 90-percent guideline was established in 2013 based on the growing body of research about the risk factors of associated with chronic absenteeism.
